Cooling the generator’s engine is needed to keep temperatures safe under load. A radiator cooling system does this by circulating a liquid coolant through the engine’s water jackets, where heat is absorbed. The heated coolant then goes to the radiator, where air blown by a fan removes the heat, cooling the fluid before it returns to the engine. This method efficiently removes heat across different loads and is the standard approach for liquid-cooled generator engines. Immersion cooling isn’t typical for engines, air cooling relies on ambient air alone and is less suitable for large gensets, and while water jacket cooling is part of the process, the complete, effective method is best described as a radiator cooling system.
